The philosophy of Summit Living Center is in accordance with the Company Mission Statement and Organization Motto and based on the concept that all human beings share common needs.
We believe that every person cared for by Summit Living Center is an individual, each with unique personalities, beliefs, desires and their own set of health challenges. As such, every person is entitled to an equal opportunity for the highest level of care possible regardless of health condition, diagnosis or demographics.
We believe that aging, and eventually death, is an inevitable part of life. Although the physical body may grow more infirmed and the mental capacities decrease as people age, Summit Living Center will promote the greatest level of independence and highest level of functioning throughout the life span while providing the necessary support to insure that the health needs of the individual are being met.
We believe that long-term care facilities are places where individuals come to live the last years of their lives. We do not accept the common notion that long-term care facilities are meant only to serve as places where the elderly come to die.
We believe that the integrity and professionalism of our staff members is vitally important in providing quality care to individuals. Compliance with expected standards and guidelines is a necessary part of every day life, not something performed solely when under scrutiny by others.
We believe that each person deserves love, respect and compassion, regardless of disease
diagnosis or demographics. Love and respect are basic human needs. By providing love,
compassion and respect to the individuals in our care, these individuals are able to return
the same to staff members, promoting an atmosphere in which living life provides its own
enjoyment.
